Frequently asked questions

How do I add a game?

Find it in Available, Upcoming or Search and tap Physical or Digital, in the list or on its detail screen. You can have both. Tap again to remove that format.

Why does it ask which console?

Some games are on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. When you add one of them, Cartuteca asks which console your physical or digital copy is for, so it goes on the right shelf. You can change it on the game's screen. Games you added with version 1.0 say "Not set" until you pick one.

How do I share my library?

In Library, tap the share button at the top. It sends your games as text, grouped by console, through Messages, WhatsApp, Notes or any app you choose. Cartuteca does not send it anywhere on its own.

How do I see my games on a shelf?

In Library, open the View menu and choose Shelf. It shows your physical games as case spines, grouped by console. Tap a spine to open the game.

Why isn't a game in Available?

Available lists released games scoring over 50 on Metacritic, so the list stays manageable. Every other game in the catalog can be found in Search.

Why is a game, a date or a cover missing?

Cartuteca 1.1 includes 7,659 Switch and Switch 2 games, with data from Wikidata as of October 8, 2026. Wikidata is maintained by a community and some games have no date or no cover. New games and corrections arrive through app updates; the catalog does not update automatically. Make sure you have the latest version of Cartuteca.

How do I change the language?

Cartuteca is in English and Spanish and uses your iPhone's language. To use another language just for Cartuteca, go to About › Language in the app, or to the app's page in Settings.

Does my library move to another iPhone?

Yes, if both use the same Apple Account with iCloud turned on for Cartuteca. When you open the app on the other phone, your library appears within a few seconds.

I added a game on one device and it doesn't show up on the other.

Open Cartuteca on the other device, with an internet connection, and wait a few seconds. Changes arrive when you open the app, not instantly.

How do I delete my library?

Unmark the games in the app: they are also deleted from your iCloud. More details in the privacy policy.
